The coast guard ship Odin was the last wooden ship in the Icelandic coast guard.  Odin was built 1938 in Akureyri and delivered to the coast guard in 1939.  Odin's size was 85 ton.  Odin was decommissioned from the coast guard in 1960 and a new Odin was purchased from Denamrk.  The ship was renamed Gautur, one of Odin's secret names in the norse religion, and was sold in 1964.

Pétur Jónsson was captain of Odin during the 12 mile code war.  The ship had a crew of 11.
